Kaghots is the fifth month of the Armenian calendar, it started on December 9 and ended on January 7. Anania Shirakatsi and Hovhannes Imastaser mention that the city was named after one of Hayk Nahapet’s sons. Since this ornament was born in December, it is called Kaghots.
